Pamper Yourself with These Aromatic Scrub Recipes

Do you struggle with cracked dry tough feet in the fall and winter? Winter weather can be a cause of seasonal dry skin. Enter the scene: salt scrubs followed by a moisturizing massage oil or body butter!

Exfoliating is a critical part of any beauty routine. It removes dry skin cells, helps unclog pores, opens ingrown hair follicles and stimulates blood flow to the skin. With increased blood flow it is easier for cells to regenerate, keeping your glow smooth and healthy. Not to mention salt is known for drawing toxicity out of the body and serves as an anti-inflammatory agent, soothing sore muscles and easing aches and pains. I use a salt scrub once a week. I wouldn’t do it more than 2 times a week as over exfoliating can be damaging to the skin.

What’s the difference between a salt and sugar scrub?

The main difference is the size of the exfoliating granule. Sugar contains smaller particles than salt and is better for sensitive skin. I wouldn’t use a salt scrub on my face as it is much too abrasive, however that extra exfoliation is great for feet, elbows, knees, and calluses.

How to make an aromatic scrub:

With this easy to make, all-natural aromatic scrub and cream, we can let the plants restore and heal our skin again. When I’m making homemade skincare recipes, I want natural ingredients that work, but are also safe for the skin. These aromatic scrub recipes contain jojoba oil which is not only moisturizing but doesn’t clog pores and sugar or salt for exfoliating. And of course, essential oils to help promote skin healing, and calm the mind and body. Aromatic scrubs only take 30 seconds to whip up and make great gifts!
